Tapio and Mielikki are the royal couple of the ancient Finnish wilderness. Together, they rule over Tapiola, the mythical kingdom of the forest. In the Kalevala and Finnish folk beliefs, they are not abstract forces, but deeply personal, complex deities who demand respect, reciprocity, and a harmonious relationship from those who enter their realm.
