Ahti (also known as Ahto) is the majestic king of the sea, waves, and all aquatic life in the Kalevala and Finnish mythology. He rules over the deep, shimmering underwater kingdom of Ahtola alongside his elegant wife, Vellamo.
Ahti represents the dual nature of the water: he can be incredibly generous, providing abundant catches to fishermen, but he is also fierce, proud, and untamable when the stormy waves rise.
