Joukahainen, who held a grudge against Väinämöinen, shot his horse to death on his way to Pohjola. Väinämöinen rolled over and drifted in the sea for a few days. An eagle carried him on its wings to the border of Pohjola. That eagle was the one he left a birch tree for it to rest when he was cutting down the tree, so it is grateful to him.
尤卡海宁对万奈摩宁怀恨在心，在他去波赫尤拉途中射死了他的马。万奈摩宁翻身落水在大海上漂流了几天。一只老鹰将他背在翅膀上飞向波赫尤拉的边境。那只老鹰就是他在砍树时为它留下一棵白桦树让它休息，因而很感激他。
